Winter Park is a village in Grand County in the US state of Colorado with 946 inhabitants (as of 2013 ) and, along with Vail , located around 80 km southwest, is one of the largest ski areas in the USA and home to the Winter Park Resort , which owns the place itself and that is Denver County . Outside the ski season, the place offers opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, climbing and fishing.

Winter Park is located in the southeast corner of Grand County, in north-central Colorado, at around 3,000 m . The distance to the east located Denver , the capital of Colorado, is about 110 km. The place could be reached until 2009 with the “ski train” of the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad . For the 2016/17 winter season, Amtrak will again be offering train rides from Denver to Winter Park on weekends. The geographical coordinates are 39 ° 54 '15 "N. Br., 105 ° 46' 45" W. L.
