Mont-Gauthier ( Walloon Malåtchî ) is a village in the Belgian municipality of Rochefort in the province of Namur in the Walloon Region .

The village is about nine kilometers northwest of Rochefort.

In 1811 the neighboring municipality of Frandeux Mont-Gauthier was assigned. In 1854 the Saint-Remi church was built in the village. In the course of a municipal reform, the previously independent municipality of Mont-Gauthier came to the municipality of Rochefort in 1977.

Personalities

The Belgian politician and mayor of Rochefort Freddy Paquet (1946–2012) was born in Mont-Gauthier .
