Monumen Nasional
The Monumen Nasional ( Indonesian "National Monument", abbreviation : Monas ) is a 137 m high tower in central Jakarta and symbolizes the struggle for Indonesia's independence . This monument was constructed by order of President Soekarno in 1961 and opened on July 12, 1975. A flame is placed on top, which is coated with 35 kilograms of gold. The viewing platform is 115 meters high.
