Moonrise is an Italian melodic death metal band from Padua that was formed in 1999.
history
The band was founded in 1999 by guitarists Gabriele Zanin and Fabio Varotto, bassist Marco Morandin, singer Marco Beltrame and drummer Fabio Sgarbossa. In 2001 a first self-produced demo appeared under the name The Light Inside . After that, Sgarbossa left the cast. In 2003 Mirko Pigozzo was added as the new drummer, after which the second demo After the Sunset was recorded in the Hate Studio in Rosà . In 2005 Davide Silvestri joined the line-up as guitarist, the following year Pigozzo left the line-up, whereupon Fabio Bacchin was added as the new drummer in 2007. In 2008 the song Angel Above the Grave was on the samplerEons of Revolution from WOM Records . In 2009, the recordings for the debut album began, which, after some delay, ended in October 2010 in the Hate Studio. In January 2011, the group signed a recording deal with Punishment 18 Records . The album was released that same year under the name Under the Flight of Crows .
