Moqueca

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Moqueca is one of the national dishes of Brazil and part of the kitchen of Brazil . The best-known variant is the "Moqueca Baiana", a fish stew made from fish fillets , coconut milk, palm oil (azeite de dendê) and tomatoes . Also well-known is the Moqueca Capixaba, where palm oil is replaced by olive oil and Annatto (in Brazil Colorau or Colorífico ) is added for coloring.

This dish is a typical example of the mixing of African and local cuisine.
