The Morgan Stanley-American Finance Association Award for Excellence in Finance was a science award in economics . The award for exceptional contributions to the financial sciences was donated in 2008 by the American Finance Association with the support of the major bank Morgan Stanley . Since then, it has been given to a single person every two years. The award was intended to be presented five times and was endowed with 200,000 US dollars .
