Moritz Schaffner (born October 15, 1993 in Munich ) is a German cyclist and triathlete .

Athletic career

In 2011 Moritz Schaffner took third place in the junior single pursuit at his first German rail championships, which meant he qualified for participation in the World Rail Championships in Moscow . There he became vice world champion of the juniors in the single pursuit and set a new German record time.

From 2012 Schaffner started in the elite class and became German runner-up in the single pursuit in 2012, and at the European championships he was able to take fifth place. At the German championships in 2014 in Cottbus , he repeated second place in the single pursuit.

After a three-year break from racing, Moritz Schaffner competed in cycling races for the first time again in spring 2019 wearing the RSV Götting-Bruckmühl jersey. He competes in the triathlon for the SC 53 Landshut; on his debut in July 2019 he was Bavarian champion.
