The Morne Diablotins is with a height of 1447 m , the highest mountain in Dominica .
The mountain is located in the north of the island, about 15 miles north of Dominica's capital Roseau and about 10 kilometers southeast of Portsmouth , the second largest city on the island.
The Morne Diablotins is an active stratovolcano that last erupted 30,000 to 40,000 years ago. So far, the Morne Diablotins shows seismic activity; it is dormant, but according to volcanologists it is still an active volcano that can suddenly become active again.
