Roseau [ roʊˈzoʊ ] is the capital of Dominica with about 15,000 inhabitants (as of 2011) . The port city is located in the southwest of the island on the Caribbean Sea and the Roseau river of the same name . It forms the economic and cultural center of the country. The city has existed since at least 1642.
Roseau is the bishopric of the Diocese of Roseau .
Infrastructure
In addition to daily ferry connections from Guadeloupe and Martinique , large cruise ships moor in the port several times a week , with which most of the tourists reach the country.
Roseau has a small airport, Canefield Airport ( IATA code : DCF). There are only connections on neighboring islands.
With the Windsor Park is one since 2007, the population of the city, oversized Stadium (especially for Cricket used) in Roseau.
