Parish
Parish [ pærɪʃ ] (English; in German about "Pfarrei, Kirchspiel , Parochie ") is, similar to the districts or municipalities in Germany , an administrative unit in English-speaking countries and is found there as part of the name of area names. The literal translation is parish, but also parish; therefore, the term civil parish is also used in an administrative context , including in the United Kingdom and the US state Louisiana , which is the only state to use parishes instead of the counties or boroughs customary in the other US states (in Alaska ).
