List of parishes in Louisiana

The US -American state of Louisiana 's 64 parishes divided that the counties meet in most other states.

The official abbreviation for the state of Louisiana is LA and the FIPS code is 22 .

The FIPS code for each individual parish therefore always begins with 22 , to which a three-digit number is appended.

The population figures are based on the 2010 census .
