The Beauregard Parish ( French Paroisse de Beauregard ) is a Parish in US -amerikanischen State Louisiana . In 2010 , the parish had 35,654 residents and a population density of 11.9 people per square kilometer. The administrative seat ( Parish Seat ) is DeRidder , named after Ella De Ridder , a sister-in-law of the railway magnate Jan De Goeijen .

The Parish is located in western Louisiana and is bounded to the west by the Sabine River , which forms the border with Texas . It has an area of 3,020 square kilometers, of which 15 square kilometers are the water surface of the Toledo Bend Reservoir . history
The Beauregard Parish was formed on June 12, 1912 from parts of the Calcasieu Parish. It was later named after Pierre G. T. Beauregard , a Confederate general in the American Civil War .
The area of today's Beauregard Parish was from 1806 to 1821 part of the " Neutral Ground " between the USA and Spain . The Adams-Onís Treaty , ratified by the USA in 1821, finally established the border between Texas, Spain, and the US state Louisiana.

The racial the population was composed of 82.2 percent white, 13.5 percent African American, 1.1 percent Native American, 0.7 percent Asian, 0.1 percent Polynesian and other ethnic groups; 2.5 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 3.2 percent of the population.
25.7 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 60.7 percent were between 18 and 64 and 13.6 percent were 65 years or older. 49.0 percent of the population was female.
