The Bienville Parish ( French Paroisse de Bienville ) is a Parish in US -amerikanischen State Louisiana . In 2010 , the Parish had 14,353 residents and a population density of 6.8 people per square kilometer. The Parish Seat is Arcadia .
geography
The Parish is located in mid-northwest Louisiana, about 40 km to the north from Arkansas and about 70 km to the west from Texas . It has an area of 2128 square kilometers, of which 29 square kilometers are water. The following neighboring parishes border the Bienville Parish:

history
The Bienville Parish was formed on March 14, 1848 from parts of the Claiborne Parish. It was named after Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville (1680–1767), a former governor of the then French Louisiana .
Furthermore, the Parish is known from the shooting of the crook couple Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow by the police in 1934.
