Bastrop is a city in Morehouse Parish in the US state of Louisiana . The place, which was officially registered as a parish in 1852, is the administrative seat of the Parish.

According to the 2000 census, 12,988 people in 4723 households and 3301 families live in the city. In the city, 30.1% are under 18 years old, 10.1% are 18 to 24, 25.6% are 25 to 44, 18.8% are 45 to 64, and 15.5% are over 65. The average age is 33. For every 100 women there are 82.9 men.
