action

Four dead and battered police officers terrify Miami. Senior Attorney CJ Townsend has been appointed to a task force with her fiancé Special Agent Dominick Falconetti. While Dominick is investigating the drug mafia and gang wars, CJ makes an increasingly obvious connection between the police murders and herself. The police shared a secret with her, except for the second victim. CJ was raped by William Bantling fifteen years ago and is still suffering psychological and physical damage to this day. In order to take revenge on Bantling, she worked three years ago in the so-called Cupid case, in which eleven young women were cruelly killed, a conspiracy plan, based on which Bantling was put on death row despite his guilt that was never fully proven. Today the innocent William Bantling tries again and again to appeal and thus obtain a new trial. When his attempt fails again, he tries to cooperate with the police. He mentions a snuff club . Its chairman is the former and already dead psychiatrist from CJ. His successor is unknown, but he calls himself a cop killer. The police pay little respect to Bantling and are certain that they have solved the case when they find LBJ, the most wanted man in Miami, massacred in his bathtub. While Dominick, not convinced of the outcome of the case, is fine-tuning his final report, the pieces of the case slowly come together and he concludes that his task force has been on the wrong track all along. The real killer is within their own ranks and is Chris Masterson, a member of the Morpheus Task Force. While Dominick imagines his picture, Chris wants to finish his work by killing CJ. He explains that the rape and the Cupid and Morpheus murders were part of a sick game. Its goal is to find out how far CJ would cross the line to send her tormentor Bantling to his death. Before Chris can finish his work and kill CJ, he is injured after an act of desperation by his victim and then shot.
