Morsched
The Morsched (English and French also translate as Morshèd ) is a signpost and guide of the Pahlavan (hero, knight or athlete) who does his exercises in the Zurchaneh (power house) .
The Morsched need all the exercises of the athletes know, be a role model for the athletes, and he has the most important Persian poetry, especially the Persian national epic, Ferdosis Shahnameh , know by heart. He has to be proficient in the big tumbler drum ( tombak ) and have a good voice. The traditions and ethical ideas of the Zurchanehs are based on traditions from the pre-Islamic period and combine athletic exercises with Zoroastrian spirituality. The Morsched usually begins his lecture with the first line of the prologue by Ferdosis Schahname:
"Be nam-e chodavand-e jaan-o cherad" - "In the name of God, (the Lord) of the soul and the mind"
