Mortuary was a Ukrainian progressive death and death doom metal band from Khmelnytskyi , which was formed in 1996, split up in 1999, reunited in 2003 and split up around 2006.

history

The band was formed on August 27, 1996 and consisted of keyboardist and singer Vitaly Savchuk, bassist Andrew Savchuk, drummer Alexey Katyuha and guitarist Victor Tishchuk. The first concerts followed before Vlad Zbarashchenko joined the band as another guitarist in 1998. After their last concert on May 23, 1999, the band broke up for personal reasons.

On January 16, 2003 Andrey and Vitaliy Savchuk re-founded the band. Artyom Bodnar joined the band as drummer and Max Prokopchuk as guitarist, while Nikolay Palyga joined the band in 2004 as guitarist. The band released their debut album The Diary of a Victim , which was followed by appearances at various festivals. In the summer of 2008, Max Prokopchuk and Nikolay Palyga left the band, after which Maxim Orlovskiy joined the band as a guitarist. A little later drummer Artyom Bodnar left the band and was replaced by Rey Sergey. A little later the band broke up.
