damage

During the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in 1992, the victims of the Khodjali massacre were brought to the Ağdam mosque. When Agdam was captured by the Armenian armed forces on July 23, 1993, the roof and attic of the mosque were damaged and windows, doors and the marble floor were destroyed. However, the mosque with its two minarets is one of the few buildings in the city that have been preserved. The building is currently used for agriculture.
