from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Moses of Kiev was a 12th century Jewish Talmudic scholar .

There is no information about his person. His name is mentioned in two Hebrew texts from the 12th century. Rabbi Meir von Rothenburg quotes a Psak din (decision) by Rabbi Samuel ben Ali from Babylonia from his letter to Rabbi Moses from Kiev, as well as the Jichuse tannaim we-amoraim (possibly from Speyer).

Maybe Moses was in Western Europe for a time, maybe with Rabbi Jakob ben Meir Tam .

In the Sefer ha-Shoham a Rabbi Moses the Russian was mentioned.
