Mosibudi Mangena (born August 7, 1947 in Tzaneen ) was South African Minister of Science and Technology and chairman of the Azanian People's Organization (AZAPO).

Life

He attended the Hebron Training College until 1969 and then completed a degree in applied mathematics at the University of South Africa - it is called "University of Azania" on the AZAPO website. He joined the South African Students' Organization (SASO) and was elected to the University of Zululand Student Council in 1971 . When he returned to Pretoria , he became chairman of the SASO in Pretoria in 1972. In 1981 he headed the part of the Black Consciousness Movement of Azania (BCMA) in Botswana and headed the BCMA Central Committee from 1982 to 1984.

In 1994 he returned from exile and became chairman of AZAPO. In 2001 Thabo Mbeki appointed him Minister of Education and from the parliamentary elections in South Africa in 2004 , when AZAPO defended its seat in parliament, he was Minister for Science and Technology until Mbeki resigned.
