Mossoviet Theater
The Mossoviet Theater ( Russian Государственный Академический театр имени Моссовета , Mossovet State Academic Theater ) is a theater in Moscow .
history
It was opened as the theater of the Moscow Trade Union Confederation (MGSPS) in 1923 with the performance of a play by Leonid Andreyev under the director S. Prokofiev. From the beginning they played new Soviet pieces such as Sturm by Vladimir Bill-Bielotserkovski. In 1964 it received the honorary title of Academic Theater . In April 1968 the premiere of Views of a Clown by Heinrich Böll took place there as a play. Paul Osipovich Chomsky has worked as a director and artistic director since 1985. In May 2010, the comedy To Moscow! To moskau! by the director Frank Castorf World premiere as part of the International Chekhov Festival.
