Motorola Pageboy II

The Pageboy II was introduced in the United States in 1975 and in Europe in 1976. It was the successor to the only briefly manufactured Pageboy . With its size of approx. 12 cm x 3.5 cm x 2 cm and its weight of approx. 85 grams (without battery), it was the smallest radio alarm receiver on the market at the time. The detector is powered by a special 1.3 volt battery that was manufactured by Motorola . Thanks to its clip on the back, the FME can also be worn on a belt.

technical description

The standard version of the Motorola Pageboy II works in the 4-meter band , while there is also a version for the 2-meter band . The receivers must be doctored and adjusted for the respective radio channel . The alarm is carried out in the same way as a standard 5-tone sequence , to which the device must be specifically coded with a PROM . A 3- or 4-tone sequential evaluation is also possible as an alternative. If a coded tone sequence is received, an alarm tone sounds for a few seconds. Then the voice announcement takes place.

A rotary switch on the front of the device is used to switch on the device and to adjust the volume. There is also a button for resetting the FME after the alarm announcement has ended (the FME is muted again and is ready to call). A 2.5 mm jack socket is used to connect an earphone.
