The magazine appears for the first time on January 3, 2007 with 68 pages. The 01/2007 issue starts with a high sales rate for a title in this segment. According to IVW, the magazine overtook the previous market leader touring drivers in kiosk sales for the first time in 2008 . The number of pages increases to 84 pages. Many well-known manufacturers support the magazine. It reaches over 5,000 subscribers for the first time. For the time being, the magazine retains its market dominance in 2009 and can keep ahead of the competition. No other magazine in the motorcycle travel segment sells as many magazines per issue as the magazine Motorrad & Reisen.

The development continues. The number of pages increased to 84 to 100 pages in 2010. The title joins the IVW and is from now on audited. In the first circulation report, the title reports a subscription circulation of 16,253 copies and a circulation of 44,441 copies. The range will be expanded in 2011 to include motorcycle & travel with DVD . The issue of Motorrad & Reisen 04/11 will be the best-selling issue in the company's history to date. Motorrad & Reisen will be offered in 2012 with and without DVD. The price for the DVD edition is 4.95 euros and has been well received. In 2013, Motorrad & Reisen changed the publication frequency to monthly. The editions alternate and include a DVD every two months. The business model from is retained. In addition, Motorrad & Reisen 2014 offers a subscription exclusively as an e-paper.

The price of the editions with and without DVD will be mediated in 2015. Motorrad & Reisen now costs 3.90 euros - with or without a DVD. The editor-in-chief and co-founder of the company, Frank Klose, died in mid-May. The Motorrad & Reisen editorial team with managing director Alexander Klose decides to continue the title, but the frequency will be reduced to every two months. Issue 69 will be published on July 19, 2015.

Issue 70 will appear for the first time with 132 pages on September 11, 2015. The sale in IVW for the first quarter after the changeover is issued with 30,454 copies and shows a noticeable increase in sales. (+ 92.21% compared to the previous quarter)

The expansion course will continue in 2016. Both circulation and sales are increasing continuously. The content now regularly amounts to 132 pages. The leaf is more diverse. More topics, more up-to-date reports. There are also reports of presentations and exclusive press launches again and again. This further boosts circulation and sales in the kiosk segment. In keeping with its name, Motorrad & Reisen is now a motorcycle magazine that also offers travel and is no longer a motorcycle travel magazine. Renowned titles such as the motorcyclist in the Ehastra Group 330 (motorcycle) are overtaken according to IVW guidelines. As the only title that does not belong to a major publisher, the former family business has meanwhile achieved a sale that, according to IVW guidelines, means a ranking among the three best-selling motorcycle magazines. Since issue 75 (September / 2016) Motorrad & Reisen is also available in pocket format (also IVW-compliant) for 2.90 euros.

In 2017 the title celebrates its 10th anniversary. The January edition impresses with current driving reports and a fresh layout. All sellers receive a 100-page special issue free of charge.
