Type II motor sprayer on trailer

The motorized sprayer type II , also MS type II , is a portable motorized pump that is usually transported on a trailer - together with the appropriate fire-fighting equipment . The device is used to suck in water from flowing and standing water independently of the hydrants available on site and to transport it over long distances.

The motorized sprayer was produced in 1965 for the Swiss civil defense by the company Vogt & Cie. (today: Vogt AG) and is the more powerful variant of the portable type I civil defense motorized sprayer previously developed by the same company . As a result, several companies were involved in production, including the Fega-Werke in Zurich and Contrafeu AG in Bern .

The MS Type II is used by the Swiss fire brigade as well as the Swiss civil protection for fire fighting for fire extinguishing water or the transport of extinguishing water and for providing assistance in pumping out flooded buildings.
