Company history
Mouser Electronics was founded in El Cajon , California in 1964 by Jerry Mouser. Jerry Mouser was a physics teacher who needed electronic components for his high school classes. Since these were hard to come by in small quantities, he started his own company. In 1983 his company moved to Mansfield, Texas.
In January 2000 Mouser Electronics became a subsidiary owned by TTI Inc. of Fort Worth , Texas. Since March 30, 2007, TTI and Mouser have been part of the Berkshire Hathaway Group.
Mouser now has many customer service offices scattered around the world. The company trades in 17 international currencies. The headquarters in Texas covers approximately 45,700 square meters. Mouser works with a wireless warehouse management system.
E-commerce
The company's website is updated daily with products from more than 450 manufacturers. In addition to a product knowledge center, the website also has around 5 million data sheets that can be downloaded.
