Mansfield is a city in Tarrant County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located on US Highway 287 in northeast Texas, 25 km southeast of Fort Worth in the southeast of the county and has a total area of ​​94.6 km², of which 0.1 km² is water.

history

Ralph S. Man and Julian B. Feild , after whom the place was named, moved to the area in 1857, where they built a sawmill and the first steam-powered flour mill. Subsequent settlers took land around the mills and first named the place Mansfeild , after the two mill owners, which later became Mansfield.
