Marble Falls is a city in Burnet County in the US state of Texas in the United States .
geography
The city is located on the Texas Colorado River in southeastern Texas, at the junction of US Highway 281 with Farm Road 1431, 20 km southeast of Burnet and around 60 km northeast of Austin and has a total area of 17.4 km², of which 1 , 5 km² of water.

According to the census in 2000 , 4,959 people lived here in 1,931 households and 1,266 families. The population density was 311.8 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 85.80% White, 2.48% African American, 0.40% Native American, 0.42% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, and 8.87% other ethnic groups. About 2.00% were of mixed race and 22.54% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 1,931 households, 35.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 47.1% of these were married couples living together. 14.3% were single mothers and 34.4% were non-families. 29.8% of all households were single households and there were people living in 13.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.10.
28.7% of the population were under 18 years old, 8.9% 18 to 24, 25.9% 25 to 44, 20.4% 45 to 64, and 16.2% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 88.4 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 83.9 men.
The median income for a household in the 30,880 USD , and the median income for a family 38,382 USD. Males had a median income of $ 30,242 versus $ 18,771 for females. The per capita income was $ 16,059. 16.5% of the population and 13.9% of families are below the poverty line. Of these, 21.4% were children and adolescents under 18 years of age and 12.8% were 65 or older.
