Colleyville is a city in Tarrant County in the US state of Texas in the United States .
geography
The city is a suburb of Fort Worth and is located in the northeast of the county, is about 80 km to the north from Oklahoma and has a total area of 33.9 km², of which 0.08 km² is water.
history
Settlement of the area began around 1850. The city was named after Hilburn Howard Colley , a doctor from Missouri who moved to Texas in 1880, settled here and practiced for 40 years. In 1936, 25 residents were registered for the first time and in 1958 the population had risen to 100. Due to the proximity to Fort Worth and better transport connections, the place became a popular place to live and in 1964 1,491 people lived here.

According to the 2000 census, 19,636 people lived here in 6,406 households and 5,823 families. The population density was 579.2 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 93.14% White, 1.31% African American, 0.39% Native American, 3.15% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, and 0.59% other ethnic groups. About 1.40% were mixed race and 3.23% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 6,406 households, 49.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 85.4% of them were married couples living together. 4.1% were single mothers and 9.1% were non-families. 7.7% of all households were single households and there were people living in 1.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.06 and the average family size was 3.24.
31.6% of the population were under 18 years old, 4.4% 18 to 24, 26.1% 25 to 44, 32.2% 45 to 64, and 5.6% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 98.4 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 96.7 men.
The median income for a household in the 117,419 USD , and the median income for a family 121,499 USD. Males had a median income of $ 90,834 versus $ 42,455 for females. The per capita income was $ 50,418. 1.4% of the population and 1.2% of families are below the poverty line. 1.5% of these were children and adolescents under 18 years of age and 1.7% were 65 or older.
