River Oaks is a city in Tarrant County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located near Fort Worth , west of the county center and has a total area of ​​5.2 km² with no significant water surface.

history

The place experienced a boom in 1941 when the government decided to build a factory near the city to manufacture B-24 bombers, which later became Carswell Air Force Base. From 1960 to 1980 the population grew from 2000 to over 8000 inhabitants. By reducing the size of the Air Force Base, the population fell again in the following years to 6580 in 1990.
