Grapevine is a city in Tarrant County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located about 30 km northeast of Fort Worth , in the extreme northeast corner of the county, in the middle northeast of Texas, is about 90 km to the north from Oklahoma and has a total area of 92.9 km², of which 9.3 km² is water is.

According to the 2000 census, 42,059 people lived here in 15,712 households and 11,312 families. The population density was 503.1 inhabitants per km². The racial the population was composed of 88.16% White, 2.38% African American, 0.55% Native American, 2.56% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, and 4.58% other ethnic groups. About 1.69% were mixed race and 11.56% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 15,712 households, 42.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 58.9% of these were married couples living together. 9.4% were single mothers and 28.0% were non-families. 22.2% of all households were single households and there were people living in 3.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 3.14.
29.2% of the population were under 18 years old, 7.5% 18 to 24, 36.6% 25 to 44, 21.9% 45 to 64, and 4.8% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 100.5 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 99.4 men.
