Hale Center is a city in Hale County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located at the confluence of Interstate 27 with Farm Road 1914 near the county center in northwest Texas, the so-called Texas Panhandle , is 112 km to the west from the border with New Mexico and has a total area of 2.8 km² with no significant Water surface.
Demographic data
According to the 2000 census, 2,263 people in 798 households and 572 families lived here. The population density was 801.6 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 76.54% White, 5.04% African American, 0.31% Native American, 0.04% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, and 15.42% other ethnic groups. About 2.65% were mixed race and 56.56% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 798 households, 37.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 57.0% of these were married couples living together. 9.4% were single mothers and 28.3% were non-families. 26.7% of all households were single households and 17.0% had people living there who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.78 and the average family size was 3.41 people.
