Crowley is a city in Tarrant County and Johnson County in the US state of Texas in the United States .
geography
The city is located two miles west of Interstate 35 in southern Tarrant County and northern Johnson County in northeast Texas, is about 100 miles north of Oklahoma and has a total area of 17.2 km² with no significant body of water.
history
The first settlers settled here along Deer Creek in 1848 . When the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway moved their rails in 1885 , they moved in the direction of the supply station, which also served as the train station. The new settlement was named after SH Crowley, a railway employee.

According to the census in 2000 , 7,467 people in 650 households and 2,098 families lived here. The population density was 433.5 inhabitants per km². The racial the population was composed of 93.08% White, 1.39% African American, 0.76% Native American, 0.48% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, and 2.29% other ethnic groups. About 1.98% were mixed race and 7.81% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 2,650 households, 43.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 59.7% of these were married couples living together. 15.1% were single mothers and 20.8% were non-families. 17.5% of all households were single households and there were people living in 6.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.81 and the average family size was 3.16.
30.9% of the population were under 18 years old, 8.5% 18 to 24, 30.5% 25 to 44, 21.6% 45 to 64, and 8.5% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 90.2 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 84.8 men.
The median income for a household in the city is $ 46,765 , and the median income for a family is $ 47,642. Males had a median income of $ 36,029 versus $ 26,035 for females. The per capita income was $ 18,282. 6.5% of the population and 5.5% of families are below the poverty line. 7.7% of these were children and adolescents under 18 years of age and 4.3% were 65 or older.
