North Richland Hills is a city in Tarrant County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located on Highways 26, 83 and 820 in northeastern Texas, is approximately 14 km west of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and 13 km northeast of Fort Worth and has a total area of 47.2 km², of which 0, 1 km² of water is.

According to the 2000 census, 55,635 people lived here in 20,793 households and 15,407 families. The population density was 1,179.6 people per km². The racial the population was composed of 88.48% White, 2.70% African American, 0.54% Native American, 2.65% Asian, 0.17% Pacific Islander, and 3.39% non-American ethnic groups. About 2.07% were mixed race and 9.48% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 20,793 households, 38.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 59.9% of these were married couples living together. 10.3% were single mothers and 25.9% were non-families. 20.4% of all households were single households and there were people living in 5.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 3.09.
27.2% of the population were under 18 years old, 9.0% 18 to 24, 32.6% 25 to 44, 22.3% 45 to 64, and 8.8% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 96.8 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 93.1 men.
