The Mowag Tornado is an armored personnel carrier from the Swiss company Mowag .

History and Development

The Mowag Tornado has the engine in the bow, the driver is on the right and the commander directly behind him. The Panzergrenadiers exit the vehicle through a rear door, so there is a certain similarity to the Soviet BMP-1 . Different versions of the tornado with different armament were tested. The last version was built in 1980. Series production never came about. The Tornado is equipped with an AC protective ventilation system and an automatic fire warning and extinguishing system in the engine compartment. Arming with SNORA and SURA-D missiles was also possible.

A prototype is now in the Swiss Military Museum in Full .
