The Much Wenlock and Severn Junction Railway was a British railway company based in Shropshire , England .

history

The company was founded on July 21, 1859 to produce a railway line between Much Wenlock and the Severn Valley Railway in Buildwas . The fund was funded through an equity issue of £ 24,000 and bonds of £ 8,090.

Completion took place on October 22, 1861 and the opening on February 1, 1862. In Much Wenlock, the Wenlock Railway later connected to Craven Arms . It was operated by the West Midland Railway . The Great Western Railway took over the Much Wenlock and Severn Junction Railway on August 7, 1896.
