Muhammad Shaani Abdullah is a politician from Malaysia . He is currently (December 2010) the government's human rights commissioner .
Life
At the end of 2010, in his capacity as human rights officer, he was involved in mediating the arrests of Shiites during illegal church services. In Malaysia, where the majority of the population is Sunni , Shiites are prohibited from actively practicing their religion.
