Multi-touch for Java

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Multi-touch for Java framework (MT4j for short) serves as the basis for developing applications for multi-touch screens with the object-oriented programming language Java .

tasks

MT4j takes on many tasks that are frequently required in the development of such applications, such as the recognition and processing of touch gestures, the provision of multi-touch widgets and the hardware-accelerated image synthesis of the graphics output. The development platform was published in autumn 2009 by Fraunhofer IAO as an open source . With the cooperation of the open source community, an even more extensive "kit" of multi-touch components is to be created in the long term.

Availability

MT4j runs on the most popular PC platforms (Microsoft Windows , Linux , Mac OS X ) and can be imported directly into the Eclipse Java development environment . The use of other development environments is also possible. The "full release " contains various demo applications and examples to make it easier to start using MT4j. Documentation and tutorials can be found on the project page.
