Multilingual user interface

Under the term Multilingual User Interface (MUI), in German multilingual user interface , Microsoft markets system extensions for the Windows operating system and the office package Office , which enable the user interface (including help texts) of the programs concerned to be in several languages on one installation use. An English-language product must be installed as a basis. If a MUI is installed, the desired language can be set in the control panel under the regional and language options.

The architecture of the Windows installations obtained cannot be compared with an installation of Windows versions in the corresponding language.

All Windows versions since Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 use a multilingual user interface. They are each based on one and the same image , which is adapted depending on the version with regard to the functions contained and the language.

Multilingual user interface packs are also provided for Windows Media Player .
