Mouth roll

Plastic cup with mouth roll

The thickened rim of a cup that protects the lips from injuries when drinking is called the mouth roll . The material used is curved outwards or piled up more so that there are no sharp edges.

Another function of the lip curl is to increase the stability and rigidity of the cup. This makes it easier to put on a lid and at the same time the lid holds better on the cup.
