The Old Catholic Church in Slovakia ( Oldcatholic cirkev na Slovensku ) whose communities before the partition of Czechoslovakia to the Old Catholic parish Brno ( Brno belonged) arose after the state became independent of Slovakia and was established in 2000 as an independent church in the Union of Utrecht of the Old Catholic Churches added.

After Augustín Bačinský was elected bishop at a synod , the International Bishops' Conference (IBC) of the Union of Utrecht decided to wait for the further development of the church and to postpone the consecration until a planned review in 2006. When Bačinský received the episcopal ordination from the vagabond Bishop António José da Costa Raposo on February 8, 2004 , the IBK broke off relations with the church and distanced itself from its bishop, who, after the ordination of two other bishops, acquired the title of " Archbishop " . The center of the church is located in Bačinský's place of residence in Nitra .

In April 2007, full church fellowship with the Orthodox Anglican Communion was agreed.
