Musée National du Burkina Faso

The Musée National du Burkina Faso is a museum in Ouagadougou , the capital of the West African state of Burkina Faso .

The National Museum was created as an institution in 1962, but construction of a building did not begin until 2000. Before that, the collections were presented at various locations in the city. The new building was inaugurated in 2004 and is located in the Dassasgho district between Boulevard Charles-de-Gaulle and Avenue du Musée-National . The general manager is Alimata Tanly Sawadogo , the architect of the building is Simon Kafando .

After completion, the museum will have, among other things, an administration building, four exhibition pavilions, a library and a reception building.
