The musculus depressor anguli oris ("mouth corner puller", syn. Musculus triangularis ) is a skin muscle of the head. The muscle originates at Margo inferior to the mandible ( lower jaw ) and radiates into the mouth. At its origin it is fused with the platysma , in the area of attachment its muscle fibers interweave with those of the musculus risorius and musculus orbicularis oris . The muscle belongs to the mimic muscles and pulls the corner of the mouth downwards. It is innervated by the Ramus marginalis mandibulae of the Nervus facialis .
