Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Montoro
The Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Montoro (German Municipal Archaeological Museum of Montoro ) is a municipal museum in the city of Montoro in the Spanish province of Cordoba .
The museum, inaugurated on February 28, 1992, is located in the church of Santa María de la Mota in the square of the same name in the historic center of the city, where a castle used to be. The museum is divided into four collection sections:
- mineralogy
- paleontology
- archeology
- ethnology
The museum's collection includes works from prehistory, the Iberian, Roman, Visigothic and medieval times, objects of ethnological interest from the modern era, as well as rocks and minerals. The thoracata sculpture from the time of Emperor Trajan is significant .
