Museo Morpurgo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Museo Morpurgo is a municipal museum in the old town of Trieste . It is located on the corner of via Imbriani and via Mazzini in the palace of the brothers Carlo Marco and Giacomo Morpurgo , the descendants of Generali founder Joseph Lazarus Morpurgo (1759-1834). The imposing, three-story building was built in 1875 by the architect Giovanni Berlam and dedicated to the city of Trieste at the beginning of the 20th century.

The museum shows the original furnishings of the house, as it was inhabited by two generations of the Morpurgo dynasty - including furniture, works of art and with the special feature that each suite is kept in a different color and style. Also worth seeing are the sanitary facilities, which are in no way inferior to modern facilities in terms of their function.
