collection

It presents one of the largest collections of dolls in Spain. The roughly 800 exhibits from 50 countries range from pre-Columbian rag dolls found in children's graves to modern times. Another collection represents the golden age of the hand puppets from 1840 to 1940.

Other exhibits include wax dolls that were used as votive offerings in the late 19th century. They wear natural hair that was sewn individually and glass eyes that were artfully made by the craftsmen of the time. Two showcases contain dolls from the Mariquita Pérez series by Leonor Coello de Portugal between 1939 and 1976, which came onto the market after the Spanish Civil War. She was the first doll to have a different outfit for every occasion.

Some dolls such as the one with the face of a German emperor or the Japanese kewpie from 1913 are now valued at over 150,000 euros. Among the German dolls there is a Bruno Schmidt doll from 1890 and the German stork dolls and Schildkröt dolls made of celluloid .

Also small-format dolls furniture from the time of Louis XV. issued by the Marquise de Pompadour .
