Museu do Carro Eléctrico
Museu do Carro Eléctrico is the tram museum of the Portuguese city of Porto .
It is located in the headquarters of the historic Massarelos power station . Founded by the Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto (STCP), the museum was inaugurated in May 1992. The aim is to get a large number of tram vehicles .
The Tram Museum operates three museum lines for regular passenger service and one tourist line. However, cultural events also take place in the Tram Museum.
history
In 1988 the company had the following key figures:
- Tram line length : 18 kilometers; 50 cars
- Length of trolleybus line : 41 kilometers; 119 cars
- Bus line length : 344 kilometers; 537 cars.
exhibition
A spacious hall offers space for the exhibits, which come from all epochs of the tram. In addition to a horse-drawn tram car, the museum also shows the 500 railcar , the last vehicle built for the Porto tram. An O bus from the former O bus company Porto and the substation complete the exhibition.
