The Sejarah Jakarta Museum is a historical museum in Jakarta , Indonesia .

The museum is dedicated to the history of the Jakarta region. The museum is also known as the Fatahillah Museum or the Batavia Museum . It houses a collection of weapons, furniture, old maps and other relics from the colonial era. The building was erected in 1710 as the town house of Batavia and inaugurated by Governor General Abraham van Riebeeck . The building was the administrative seat of the Dutch East India Company and later the seat of the Dutch colonial government. In 1974 the Historical Museum was opened in this building.
