The Museum of Herzegovina in Trebinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina goes back to an idea by Jovan Dučić . Founded in 1952, it is dedicated to the archaeological, cultural and historical past of Trebinje and Herzegovina. In 2019 the museum got a department for natural history. It is located in the former barracks in the old town of Trebinje on the banks of the Trebišnjica . It has an area of ​​1500 m², of which 800 m² are open to the public.

The museum is located in a building that was built as a barracks during the time of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. It was later used as a high school and in 1989 the museum moved to its current location.

Since 2019, the natural history collection of various wild animals (mammals, birds, fish, reptiles) and plants (alpine species, trees) from Herzegovina has been presented in dioramas in imitation of typical landscapes. The flora exhibits focus on endemic and relict species from the Orjen . In particular, the glacial relics of arctic-alpine area types that immigrated to Orjen during the Ice Age, as well as regional and local endemes, were first described by Roberto de Visiani , Franz de Paula Maly and Jozef Pantocsek during the time of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and for whom the Orjen was the type locality , a special focus. The author of the exhibition is Mićo Milošević, the individual departments were professionally supervised by Pavle Cikovac (endemics and relics of the flora in Orjen), Vuk Iković (herpetology), Jovic Sjeničic (birds), Roman Ozimec (cave insects), Amra Hamzabegović (minerals). Slavenko Vukasović designed the graphic implementation.
