Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA)

The Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) is a museum of Chinese art in Manhattan , New York City .

It was founded in 1980 as the New York Chinatown History Project by historian John Kuo Wei Tchen and activist Charles Lai . The aim is to mediate Chinese immigrants in the United States and their descendants through photo documentation, research and collection.

The collection comprises 60,000 documents, photographs and textiles, making it the largest non-university collection of its kind.
