The Museum of Funeral Customs was located at 1440 Monument Ave. in Springfield , Illinois United States. It was dedicated to American funeral and mourning culture . It was located near Oak Ridge Cemetery , which is where Abraham Lincoln's grave is located.

Embalming agents

The collection included a replica of an embalming room from the 1920s, coffins and funeral paraphernalia from various eras, post-mortem photographs, and a model of Abraham Lincoln's funeral procession.

The museum hosted tours and special events, and provided resources for researching funeral culture . A souvenir shop was planned. But the museum was closed in March 2009. The museum's holdings were moved to the Kibbe Hancock Heritage Museum in Carthage , Illinois in February 2011 .
